For loose definitions of well, at any rate. My back's been feeling pretty good. I played flute at both services on Sunday, and then stuck around for choir practice afterwards, and while I was a little bit tired after that, spending Sunday afternoon nesting was enough to get things straightened out.

Then I went to get my teeth cleaned today. My back used to like the dentist's chairs. Not anymore. I've been stiff and creaky, and the outside of my left foot has been sore-into-fuzzy, since I got home, even with curling up with a book. And Parent-Teacher conferences are tomorrow afternoon. The chairs they set out for the parents could be more uncomfortable for me, but not much.

Wild America:
Saw a sandhill crane on the way to the dentist's this morning. Four pair of geese. A woodchuck scampered across the road in front of me. SR and I saw a large (over 20) flock of deer on our way home from the high school on Saturday. We have a flock of red-winged blackbirds hanging out in the backyard. And a flock of just plain black birds. The finches are really changing color now -- the goldfinches are getting brighter yellow every day, and the house finches are turning red/purple. I've been seeing some purple finches too...they're hard to differentiate in the winter, when they're all in brown and white, but some of the ones that I thought were female house finches are getting spiky purple, so they're purple finches, not house finches. We still have the doves and the sparrows. The crows have been seen chasing the hawk.... The birds are emptying the big feeder every day, and the finch feeders need to be filled more often, too. I'm fairly sure it's because we're feeding more birds now than we were in January.
