The kids go back to school on Monday. J will be going into the office while they're in school, as I'm now (mostly) capable of taking care of myself. However, he's still going to be responsible for the household chores, since I still can't bend, twist, or lift anything over 2 pounds. (So no grocery shopping, cooking, weeding, laundry, dishes, vacuuming, etc. Heck, I can't even get a new roll of TP out of the undersink cupboard!) No extended sitting, either, which means that we're staying home for Labor Day weekend--and no trip out to my folks' house for my birthday, either. :( [Actually, I can do the cooking. If someone else gets the pots out, puts the water in the pasta pot, drains the pasta when it's done, gets the meat & veggies out of the freezer, etc. I can stand at the stove (for a while) and cook.]

SR is bummed that I won't be at the Fair Parade or the CHS football game tomorrow. It's her first public performance with the HighSchool band, and she is so geeked about that (yes, I seem to be raising a band geek). But it's too much sitting and walking, so I won't see their drill until (maybe) Marching Band Festival in Albion. That's right after my 6 week follow up, and I hope to be released to rehab by then. I really should try to get to a swim meet this season, as well, but we'll just have to see how that goes.

I won't get cleared to Rehab for another three weeks -- they want to make sure the bone grafts have taken before I start, you know, actually *doing* anything besides walking. (and not too much of that, either.)
