again with the crying in baseball....
Miguel Cabrera played his last game today. There were tears all over the ballpark. (his kids and his mom, especially.)
Manager AJ Hinch put Miggy in the field one last time, at first base, in the 8th inning after his last at bat in the bottom of the seventh inning.
Steven Kwan hit a grounder four steps to the left of first base. Not a hard play, even for a man with bad knees -- which is why Miggy didn't play in the field this year. Until today. (Kwan is a good enough hitter that he could have done that on purpose.)
The radio color guy for the Tigers said 'forget what I said earlier (when Cabrera walked in his last at bat). you can script baseball.' Thank you Steven Kwan.
