it's done!

Buttons sewn on the coat, hooks & bars sewn on dress. All ends run in and trimmed. Coat pressed, gathers in dress bodice pressed. (yes, I know it's against The Rules that I'm done 10 hours before I will be wearing it, but I'm getting too old for those last minute late nights....)

Now I need to sort through my music bag so I don't haul *everything* tomorrow -- I suspect that the church will be fuller than usual. (And remember that it will take me an extra 10 minutes to get dressed tomorrow morning!)

Are night bugs crickets?

K. [my children told me that they thought cicadas (which only keen in the daytime, I think) were actually the sound of electricity in the wires]

Some of the night bug noise is crickets, but there's also some creaking bugs and some that sound like cicadas down a couple of octaves.
