J's just about ready to call up the supplier and say "I can't do it, you said I'd be able to. come get your stuff". Since the first time he talked to them, they've been claiming that he'll be able to do the install himself, which is why he went with them. He doesn't want to pay installation for something that's really fairly simple to do. (I mean, we got two quotes last year for a similar sized system, and if he'd been willing to pay installation we'd already have a system installed.)

Apparently, MI codes require that a solar install be done by a licensed electrical contractor at the very least, and preferably a solar installer. Why/how the supplier J's been working with didn't know that is beyond me. And if they did know, how did they think they'd be able to get around it?

We'd love to come up, but I think adding another couple into the mix would make things impossible, even if we slept in the garage. :) It's not that we don't trust you all, but we don't necessarily trust everyone that you're in contact with. And you don't trust all the people that we're in contact with.
